About Darla
Darla was born in to a pastor's household. The teachings of Jesus and the culture of the church are part of her earliest memories. At the age of seven, she asked Jesus to be Lord of her life. Darla met and married her best friend Richard, in college. She earned her registered nursing degree in 1986. Richard and Darla live in southern California. They have six children and 11 grandchildren/step-grandchildren.
Purpose
Jesus forewarned his disciples 2000 years ago that many false prophets would arise, deceiving many. This warning is found Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21. We live in a time with deception rampant. Many deceivers have entered the ministry to feed their own desires for affirmation, recognition, lust, and/or lucrative financial benefits. In their wake, wolves in pastoral clothing are leaving many wounded. Individuals who just want to connect with Jesus are left broken, disillusioned, confused, and betrayed. Where do you go when the pastor you trusted shows himself/herself to be untrustworthy? How do you separate lies from truth? How do you rebuild your spiritual life after having it shattered?
Or maybe you recognized the religious traditions just do not feed your spirit and you want something different, but don't know where to start. How do you learn to connect with Jesus?
Twenty-five years ago, after our son was sexually molested by another member of our church, Richard and I looked to our pastor Che Ahn and the pastoral team to help us navigate through the trauma and pain. Che directed that we "don't talk" about it and "just forgive." When we were unable to abide by his directives, Che stated he would "release us to find healing somewhere else." In other words, we were KICKED OUT OF CHURCH.
The abuse we experienced was NOT the heart of the Lord Jesus nor an example of the Father heart of God. The abuse was solely from the unredeemed, disfunctions of Che's heart alone. Yet we were left wounded trying to understand the trauma we were experiencing and find God in the midst of the pain. Our loving Lord did not leave us alone during that time. He provided friends to listen and resources to help us evaluate events, re-evaluate teachings and Scripture, and a greater, growing ability to hear Him for ourselves. Connection with the Lord Jesus brought healing to us.
My goal is to provide a platform for questions. A listening ear for the pain. A platform to evaluate religious teachings with Scripture. And an opportunity to point individuals back to Jesus. He is the one with the answers you seek. He promises in John 10:3-4, "he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice." We can hear the voice of Jesus for ourselves. He wants to speak to us.
My heart is to share what the Lord has given to us and assist others to rebuild their lives in relationship to the Lord Jesus Christ. Please feel free to reach out with your thoughts and concerns.
